I would love to welcome you all to one of this years hottest exhibitions. Silent moments is a group exhibition showing work from 23 students (including myself) studying at Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology, or IADT to you and me. I have seen most of the projects from initial idea to proofs, through to final prints and the work is fantastic. Conceptually and visually this will be a treat! This is a show not to be missed.

This photo was taken on the amazing R L F shoot last month with the beautiful Rachel Lavelle-Fee. The night before the shoot I had this dark idea about trying to portray somebody else or possibly a split personality.

5D mkii with 70-200 f/2.8 @ f/5 – 1/125 sec and 125 ISO
Natural light with a silver reflector camera right at arms length from model

Processing:
Layer duplicated, flipped & masked
Texture layers overlayed and mixed with lots of masks

Last July some awesome people over at boards.ie came up with an idea to shoot, process, design and publish an online magazine within 24 hours. I loved the idea and decided to get on board (Honestly no pun intended, that actually just came out when I was typing!). Rowan and I decided to do it together and challenge ourself. Armed with a red fullface helmet, the other photographer as a model and given five shots to tell a story. I was very interested to see the two sides and individuality our narratives would take on.

My Narrative

I wanted to create an action/comic styled photo for the magazine. Quite a funky look after a minute of playing in photoshop.

Last night was the opening of my solo photography exhibition Earthy Creatures. First thing is first! I would like to give out a HUGE thank you to everyone who has helped me in the past few years. To family, friends, models, photographers, reviewers, make up artists, stylists, followers on and offline – I really and truly appreciate all your help. Your advice, comments, critique and honesty has helped me to take this small step in my photographic life.
