I stumbled upon this video last night and have to say I can relate on so many levels. Sure, I’m still going through it! I’d love to know if you have ever or are currently going through a phase like this?
Hopefully by now, you have all heard about my first solo photography exhibition ‘Earthy Creatures‘ which takes place in Filmbase, on Tuesday March 1st at 19:00.
On the lead up to the exhibition I have been documenting a few of the mini-projects I have been working on while getting ready for the photography exhibition. This gives you a glimpse into how much thought, work and detail I put into my work, not just my photography but minute details such as the colour and texture of the paper on my invites. It’s easy to do a job well but to excel & stand out, you have to do mix it up and do things differently. I paid visit to a number of stationary shops around Dublin to find the best material I could for the invites. I wanted quality paper that had texture and strength for when people received their invites.
Rich & Luxurious hand made invitations
Everything to do with the series/exhibition I wanted to include my earthy theme throughout. You can see this by having a look the competition I ran last week in Dublin too. Every invite had a leaf hand glued to the paper it was typed on. Gold ribbon was tied around each invite for a rich exclusive touch. A few weeks before the making of the VIP invites, I requested my very own wax stamper/sealer to be created in Canada with my photography logo engraved on it. I wanted these invites to feel very personalised, rich, to ooze luxury and above all, stand out from the crowd. I’m really happy with how they’ve come out.
This morning we had an amazing photoshoot, yet another Earthy Creature shoot. Really going full steam ahead with this bad boy! The wonderful Mirela was just an amazing model. She jumped straight in and did a top notch job!!
Photographers Checklist
If you read my photo-checklist from last weeks shoot, you will see I don’t usually bring all the normal things along. Today was no different! You can add a spade, hammer and three bags of coal to the list for today

After the shoot yesterday I thought I’d pop up a quick video and two images that haven’t made the final cut. Just imagine how good the one’s that made the grade are!! They won’t be around online for a good few months as I plan to create an exhibition from them!

It’s not often I post other people photographs or movies on here but this had to go up. I find myself lucky to have had the chance to see this movie.
My entire life, these are the two words I have based my whole world and ethos around Love Life. It’s such a simple concept and one I wish more people could live by. It costs nothing, makes you happier, makes you smile, helps others around you, it’s contagious.
Earlier I posted a video on Facebook that just stunned me, it made me cry while still keeping a smile on my face. If you have a spare six minutes, I’d recommend watching it. It will provoke some amazing emotions within!!
This is the story of Steve Fugate Sr and how he lost both of his children. Amazing!!
The more I see amazing video work like this, the more I want to get into that field. This is one of the most impressive video’s I’ve seen in a while and fairplay to the guys at AntHill Films
Here’s a time lapse I put together on the second day of this years Peoples Photography 2009 – Stephens Green, Dublin, Ireland Make sure to watch it to the end, Phil and myself do a cool slow-mo walk. I think it worked out pretty well for my first time lapse.
