Snowy HDR Pano
Hey guys & gals,
I got a lot of great feedback from my last HDR image taken in Budapest and thus decided to go all out on this on.
You often here of a great HDR image, right? You also see those great wide all encompassing panos with just so much landscape in them. I went a bit mad and tried to get everything into this, a HUGE HDR Panoramic stitched shot of the Dublin mountains.
Did it work out well? – Let me know if you think it did, leave a comment below!!
What’s so special about this photo?
Well, it’s a stitched pano made up of 17 photos, it has snow, it’s taken in the Dublin mountains, it’s a HDR image, it’s full size is 12306×3095px and I almost got the car stuck in the snow three times trying to drive to this location. So to sum the photo up, it took a lot of hard work to get and I hope people like her
.

This is from camera with a litte desaturation, and stitched – Lets just say BEFORE

Let me know what you guys think (especially negative feedback!!! You can’t learn unless somebody is picking your picture to pieces!!!)
Thanks for looking guys!!

Thanks so much for all the feedback. I’m sure you all know the feeling of working on an image for too long and not having fresh eyes to see the image anymore. I’ve added the updated image above with some desaturation and also cloned out that van. Hopefully you’ll say, “What van? if I’ve done it well

Hi Kyle, Good work man, the effort was defo worth it!
There’s only 2 things I can think of (negative-wise-feedback) only because I looked at the image for at least 10 minutes. And you me, so you know that I’ve no proper knowledge of technical Stuff. Nonetheless, the 2 things:
1/ Shame that truck was there I find. I presume it was parked there?
2/ The top of the trees on the left-hand side, it looks a bit off the yellowy glow on them I think…
Only found these 2 things, and only because you specifically want people to look other for ‘faulty’ thingies
Still jealous of it anyways

Thanks a lot for the feedback Sarah, muchó appreciated!! Not much I could do about the trailer, it seems to be parked there all the time. Do you mean the glow on the trees on the right? I see what you mean but the cloudes where actually that colour when I was up there.
Thanks again Sarah!!

Hi Kyle,
That must have taken some processor power to crunch that image. As Sarah says, it’s a shame that truck was stuck there. Are the colours slightly over saturated. The blue, greens & yellows seems a bit too punchy.
Still a superb shot & well worth the trip up there to get it.
Congrats.

the middle in between….that will be the best image ( ;
No1 : too boring No2: to overtuned. Between boring and overtuned is waiting a great pano. Looking forward to see it. Cheers Madeleine

Forgive me Kyle,
I do admire your work and wish I could take the shots you do.
I prefer the gasp you get from a wide panorama to the bright colours. I think the original with almost washed-out brightness or high contrast would be more my taste. Maybe with the colors toned down a tad.
Feel free to call me a twat and keep up the good work.

Fair play to you for trekking up there to get the shot(s), I’m with Madeleine on the HDR, it just looks too unnatural to me, somewhere in between should be great.

Thanks for all the comments guys. Peter, I really appreciate the honesty. You’re constantly learning in photography and I always love a kick up the ass! It doesn’t matter if an amazing photographer who’s been shooting 50years gives me his opinion or a 5year old boy. I honestly, treat them the exact same! Everybody see’s things differently and thus everyone’s opinion is as valid as the next!!
Thanks again guys!!!
